Parole Town Center

Parole Town Center

In 1992, James Wagman was selected as the architect for the redevelopment of the Parole Plaza Shopping Center in Parole, Maryland. Rather than simply creating a typical strip mall, the firm's plan called for developing the 32-acre site as a town center. Hence, the buildings are anchored around a central plaza and the entire project is organized on a grid of streets that feature sidewalks, trees, and street furniture. The development included the construction of seven main buildings as well as several smaller structures, in addition to the renovation of two existing buildings, the construction of a park, the greening of surface parking, and the planning of open space between buildings.
