The living, dining and kitchen floor of this 2,200 square foot triplex apartment was renovated as an open, sun filled loft. The original closed in kitchen was replaced with a more open design featuring marble counters and glass and stainless steel cabinets. The fire escape window was converted to a glass door, and the fire escape landing was enlarged to create a terrace off the kitchen. In the living area the spiral stair to the penthouse study was replaced with a straight run stair made from wenge wood with shear curtains running from ceiling to floor. The existing fireplace was enhanced with painted millwork, limestone hearth and wenge cabinetry built to house the av system and flat screen television. New air conditioning and lighting systems were integrated into the space, and new pre finished wenge floors were installed throughout.
